Diane Arbus was one of the most controversial and original portrait photographers of the late 20th Century. There is a film which touches on Arbus and her work on Film4 on Monday (9/11) night at 11.05pm. Might be worth recording?

I was walking past the queue outside the Banksy exhibition when I saw a familiar face. Not one to pass up on a photo opportunity I thought I should grab a camera and take a shot. Just a clue it isn’t Banksy.

This is an interesting time lapse clip showing the whole process from setting up the studio to final print.

A recent study suggests that Robert Capa’s famous image of the death of the Spanish soldier may have been staged.

Although it has nothing to do with photography I would strongly recommend that everyone tries to go along to the Banksy exhibition at the Bristol City Museum. It is on until the end of August ‘09 and its free.

This film was made using a special still lens called a tilt shift lens which is normally used for very technical images but can be used to create this toy town look. The still images are then assembled together to create a stop frame animation.

This website is full of observational street shots which juxtapose people with familiar urban objects such as advertising hoardings and pidgeons.

I would like to take advantage of the lighter evenings and go out as a group and take some landscape/cityscapes at the beginning of next weeks class. We will then review the work that you have done over the last few weeks for assignment 4.
