Jane Bown

Jane Bown is a portrait photographer who has worked for years on The Observer and Guardian. She normally only uses available light with a very simple manual film SLR (Olympus OM1). You can see more of her work on the Guardian Website.

  1. Wonderful B&W photos, especially Samuel Becket, Cilla Black and the hand position of Bjork G. Good examples for us to use available light and unusual poses.
